Mistakes

A mistake is an event, not an identity.

You made a mistake. That's something that happened. It is not who you are.

We often skip straight from "I did something wrong" to "I am a failure." But that's a lie our fear tells us.

Coffee spills. You wipe it up. You pour a new cup. You maybe hold it more carefully next time.

Own your mistakes. Learn from them. Apologise where you need to. But don't let one moment rename your whole self.
