Letting go

Letting go isn't never looking back. It's not turning around.

Letting go gets tossed around like it's easy. Just let it go. As if it's one flick of the wrist.

It isn't. Letting go is a slow rise. Some days you drift up and the thing below you gets smaller. Some days you glance back and feel the pull of the rope.

That's okay. Looking back isn't failing. You're human, and it mattered. What counts is that you don't turn the balloon around.

Keep rising, a little at a time. One day you'll look down and realise the rope is simply trailing in the wind — no longer holding you at all.
