Walking away can be the bravest step forward.
Quitting and giving up are usually talked about like failure. But they aren't the same thing.
Giving up is letting go of yourself. Quitting — with discernment — can be the opposite: choosing yourself. Leaving the job that drains you, the group that belittles you, the habit that keeps you small.
Surrender isn't weakness either. Sometimes it's simply admitting you've rowed against this current long enough, and letting the boat drift somewhere calmer.
The bravest step forward is sometimes a step away. You'll know which one it is by the peace that follows.
