Past lives

Visit the past. Just don't move back in.

Memories are good places to visit. The old songs, the photos, the stories you tell at family gatherings. They remind you where you came from.

But the past is a museum, not a home. You can walk through it, smile, even cry a little — and then you walk back out into the present, where your real life is waiting.

The trouble starts when we unpack our bags there. When we measure every new thing against how it used to be.

Visit. Remember. Then close the album and walk through the open gate.
