Life

Rest is not a reward. It's a requirement.

A lot of us treat rest like dessert โ€” something you get only after you've finished everything on your plate. And the plate is never empty. So the rest never comes.

But rest isn't a prize for being productive. It's part of what makes you able to be productive, kind and patient at all. A phone doesn't earn its charge. It just needs it.

An empty hammock is an invitation, not a judgement. Nobody is keeping score of the hours you lay there. The inbox will still be there. The laundry will still be there. You will be better at all of it after you've been still for a while.

You're allowed to stop before you break. That's not laziness. That's maintenance.
