Love

  1. Illustration: A cracked teacup carefully repaired with neat visible stitches of rose-colored thread, sitting on a saucer on a lace doily, warm light. Love is patient with the parts that are still healing.
  2. Illustration: A single red rose in a glass vase on a table by a closed window, rain outside, one petal fallen on the table. Love that has to be begged for isn't love yet.
  3. Illustration: A cozy bedside table with a glass of water, vitamins, a warm cup of tea, a folded blanket and a small lamp glowing, evening. Love yourself like someone you're responsible for.
  4. Illustration: Two potted plants side by side on a sunny windowsill, their leaves gently leaning toward each other, both growing tall and healthy. The right love makes you softer, not smaller.
  5. Illustration: A pair of hands' tools on a wooden table: an umbrella, a packed lunch box wrapped in cloth, a folded note and car keys, early morning light by the door. Love is a verb before it is a feeling.
  6. Illustration: A candle burned halfway down, still glowing warmly on a bedside table beside a glass of water and a half-read book, early morning light. Some days, 40% is still showing up.
  7. Illustration: A big pair and a small pair of yellow rain boots standing side by side in a garden puddle after the rain, a rainbow faint in the sky. Life isn't fair. Love doesn't need it to be.
  8. Illustration: A wooden embroidery hoop with a half-stitched flower, the needle and thread still attached, resting on linen beside a cup of tea and a small spool basket, soft window light. You are allowed to love yourself before you're finished.
  9. Illustration: Two pairs of worn tsinelas (flip-flops) side by side on a wooden porch step on a rainy morning, two steaming cups of coffee beside them, potted plants and rain falling beyond the eaves. Choose the people who stay for the ordinary days.
  10. Illustration: Two mismatched ceramic mugs steaming on a wooden kitchen table at dawn, a small handwritten note tucked under one mug, soft window light. Love is not the grand gesture. It's the tea made without asking.
